AROUND KAMPUNG KAKAK
If your seeking to explore more of what Rote has to offer then you have come to the right place. There are a number of activities available that don’t involve surfing. If you are feeling adventurous you can try the many mountain bike trails that surround our property or game fishing for those who want a thrill. If these aren’t your style why not explore the many pristine white beaches that are in the west Rote area, sip on a coconut under a palm tree or experience Yoga at Seed Resort. There a number of things to do and see on Rote and our staff are always around to help find the right activity for you.
VILLAGE MARKET
If you are seeking a cultural activity during your stay, a visit to the village market is a perfect opportunity to get your fix. At the market you will be able to see what local produce is on offer, speak with locals and practice your Indonesian. Don’t be afraid to barter for the best price.
SNORKELING and SCUBA DIVING
There are many great reefs around Kampung Kakak that offer a great snorkeling experience. The water in Nemberala is clean and clear and offers great visability. You can expect to see an abundance of marine life, including a large variety of fish, turtles, manta rays and dugons (if you are lucky).
MOUNTAIN BIKING
Rote offers a number of remote mountain bike trails; sweeping costal tracks, jungle climbs and remote villages to pass through. MTB Rote has a lot of surprises for you, expereince the isolation and fun of real off road exploration.
FISHING
Blue water fishing? Most definitely, if you put your line in the water be prepared. Be prepared for the fight of your life with unreal game fish; Spanish Mackeral, Giant Trevali, Wahoo, Kingfish, Tuna and more. Bring your lures for the 'real biggens'. There are lots of ideal locations and offshore islands to test your skills.
ISLAND EXPLORING
Rote is home to a number of pristine white sand beaches. Hire a motorbike for the day and follow the main road in town, stopping at coves and beaches along the way. On your exploration you will also come across a number of small villages and happy locals, don’t be afraid to smile and wave.
